Driver - Shuttle Services (6 : 00 am - 2 : 00 pm)

The Department of Public Safety protects and serves the Creighton community through proactive patrolling, rapid response, community outreach, security technology, and safe parking and transportation options. We seek to ensure that all members of our community can live, learn, work, and play in a safe and secure environment. Public Safety has primary responsibility for security enforcement, emergency management, campus safety, parking enforcement, and transportation on Creighton University's Omaha Campus.

Our licensed commercial drivers will operate various University vehicles, with and without passengers, to support the operational needs of the University. Drivers will comply with all traffic laws and regulations, as well as Department of Transportation (DoT) regulations applicable to the operation of the shuttle buses. Drivers will perform routine maintenance, refuel vehicles, and notify the senior manager of any major maintenance issues with University vehicles. Drivers will also provide feedback and report problems with any assigned shuttle routes or passengers. Drivers will complete mandated DoT documentation each shift in compliance with regulations and University procedures.

A successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to relate to all members of the Creighton community and a desire to help others. Additionally, the candidate should be a self-motivated person who can work independently with little supervision.

• Operate shuttle buses on assigned fixed routes, on-demand services, or assigned trips.
• Complete mandated DoT documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and re-fuel vehicles.

Shift hours : 6 : 00 am - 2 : 00 pm

Primary Work Schedule : Mon-Fri

Full-time 10 Month position (Aug - May).

Must have a clean driving record for the last 3 years and no major violations within the last 5 years.
