The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following :
Program, set up, and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) to fabricate precision partsInterpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specificationsTroubleshoot and resolve machining issues independently to ensure accuracy and efficiencyInspect parts using advanced measuring tools (CMM, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)Suggest and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and qualityTrain and mentor less-experienced machinists and act as a resource for technical knowledgeWork collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure project timelines and quality expectations are metPerform preventative maintenance on machines and ensure compliance with safety standardsThe background of the successful candidate must include the following :
A High School Diploma or GED is required; vocational school / technical certification is preferred2+ years of experience in CNC machine programming and setup2+ years of hands-on programming experience is a requirementProficient in CNC programming (G-code, Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar controls)Strong knowledge of materials, tooling, feeds, and speedsAbility to work from complex blueprints and GD&T symbolsExperience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices is a plusA solid work history with strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
