Manager of Systems and Storage
The Manager of Systems and Storage oversees a team of IT server administrators and engineers responsible for managing server storage and operating systems for Freeman Health System. This role ensures the effective operation of the team, focusing on data centers, cloud technologies, disaster recovery, data protection, and virtualization environments. The Manager of Systems and Storage plans, organizes, and controls workflow, prioritizes activities to ensure service continuity, and serves as an expert resource for complex problem resolution. Additionally, the Manager of Systems and Storage participates in departmental planning, policy development, and is part of the IT Leadership On-Call rotation for disaster recovery and major incidents.
Responsibilities :
- Liaise between Operations, IT Departments, and Server / Storage group.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction with projects and support.
- Propose policy changes for efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure security and compliance in support practices.
- Develop KPIs for timely and effective customer support.
- Manage operational and performance metrics.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- Oversee talent management : acquisition, development, mentoring, and performance.
- Facilitate staff engagement and retention.
- Create development plans and identify training needs.
- Align team roles with strengths and growth opportunities.
- Lead and coordinate IT projects with operational partners.
- Ensure proper documentation and system analysis.
- Plan resources and estimate effort for team tasks.
- Set priorities and timelines for project completion.
- Assist in IT budget development and planning.
- Maintain on-call rotations and exceed customer service expectations.
- Ensure security in hardware, applications, and software evaluations.
- Ensure server and storage solutions meet business needs.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction with projects and support.
- Foster cooperation and shared vision across departments.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field (4 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree in addition to items below)
7 years of relevant experience
Preferred Requirements :
10 years relevant experience in a Healthcare setting
Experience supervising staff strongly preferred.
Experience supporting revenue cycle systems in a 24x7 hospital setting is preferred.
Experience with these technologies :

o Storage Hardware and Solutions like Veem and Cohesity
o VMware
o Microsoft
Familiar with these technologies and languages :
o PowerShell
o Automation orchestration
