Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Stepdown Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit with Level I trauma and travel assignment experience, holding a TN or compact RN license. Responsibilities Work in a hospital Stepdown and Med Surg Overflow unit Patient ratio is typically 1 : 6 or 1 : 7 Care is provided in a Level I Trauma Center and short-term acute care environment Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 00), with 36 or 48-hour week schedules possible Schedule details may vary and will be discussed during the interview On-call and weekend shifts are required as needed Block scheduling is not available, but weekend blocks may be considered Floating may be required between similar units and facilities within 20 miles RN will provide care for patients in Stepdown and Med Surg Overflow units, including those with higher acuity needs Candidate must be willing to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if they fall during the assignment, or 1 of 2 if only two holidays occur during assignment First-time travelers will not be considered for this position All requested time off must be included at time of application and will not be approved after an offer is made Returning employees must have a one-year separation before eligibility to return as a traveler Rare floating may occur between campuses, but is typically limited to units within one facility Proof of recent vaccination may be required Requirements Active TN or compact RN license is required, no pending licensure accepted Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a large hospital and Stepdown setting Prior Level I trauma experience is mandatory At least one completed previous travel nursing assignment is required Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher is accepted Cerner EMR experience is preferred BLS and all other current certifications must be kept up to date and not set to expire during assignment Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613368.
