Position Summary

The Material Review Board (MRB) Coordinator is a position that will assist in the application of quality principles to one or more of Sargent’s product lines. This position will work with personnel at various levels of the organization while supporting the company’s efforts towards meeting customer requirements and ensuring that only acceptable products are delivered to customers. The Quality Assurance Specialist I will review internal and external requirements to assure product conformance to customer and internal requirements and coordinate all efforts necessary for disposition of nonconforming material.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety to all team members, Customers, and Suppliers.
  • Perform job functions in accordance with set policies and procedures to ensure preservation of the company policy.
  • Apply quality and contractual requirements (internal and external flow down) to assure program performance meets customer and company objectives.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve issues.
  • Support Material Review Board Activities, source inspection, product and process verifications, hardware acceptance reviews, or similar processes.
  • Provide quality support for the Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
  • Assist in the control of product, process, materials, and subcontractor control.
  • Review work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Must work with a sense of urgency to complete assigned tasks.
  • Prepare incoming and outgoing articles for inspection by retrieving required supporting documentation.
  • Visually inspect with limited dimensional inspection on incoming articles using basic measuring equipment.
  • Verify documentation to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Learn to interpret drawings, certifications, and military / industry specifications.
  • In addition, candidate must be able and willing to work extra time as required to ensure completion of all assigned projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient with applicable computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to make decisions, communicate effectively and work with others.
  • Must be a team player, self-starter, problem solver, and adaptable.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
  • Must be able to work OT if needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Continued education (College Course Work, Technical Studies, Seminar Completion).
  • A minimum of 1 year of Quality Assurance experience.
  • A general knowledge of applicable QMS standards (ISO 9001 or AS9100).
  • Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Safety Hazards

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work with a computer is necessary, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely move about in a variety of work environments, from office to manufacturing floor, and others.
  • Ability to remain on the manufacturing shop floor, sometimes for extended periods, while meeting specified safety requirements (i.e., vision protection, foot / toe protection, and others as appropriate).
  • Good vision is necessary to make decisions on the acceptability of product.
