Task Leader - Rochester, MN

The Task Leader will lead a subcomponent of a project and provide daily work direction to an assigned group of trade team members. Engage in the same daily construction trade work as trade team members. Responsibilities include taking personal responsibility for working safely within an incident and injury free (IIF) culture, receiving daily work instructions from Foreman, Project Manager, or Superintendent, assigning tasks to team members, training and providing guidance as needed, recognizing and communicating any issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager, communicating repair and maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs, ensuring that team members are properly trained in and comply with all required safety policies and procedures, inspecting work-in-progress to ensure that it conforms to the specifications, construction schedules, and quality standards as outlined in AP's quality management programs, working alongside trade team members and ensuring that workmanship is of the highest quality, maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and materials are properly stored, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a history of progressively more responsible leadership experience and proven results including a high school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary coursework or a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred, 4+ years of directly related trades experience, solid understanding of and compliance with safety policies and procedures, current or ability to become current with OSHA and company safety requirements, ability to properly lift, carry, push, and move materials, supplies, tools, and ladders weighing up to 100 pounds on a routine basis throughout the day, physical agility to climb ladders, kneel, crouch down, and reach on a repetitive basis throughout the day, ability to travel to project sites and availability to accept long-term out-of-town assignments, willingness to work in various (sometimes extreme) climate conditions, proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools, demonstrated integrity and ethical standards, demonstrated high attention to detail, developed communication skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences, demonstrated ability to proactively resolve construction issues, ability to efficiently coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously under time constraints, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful and lasting relationships.
