Description :

ICU RN for a night shift position.

The role involves taking care of IMC / PCU patients who may board in the ICU.

Patient assignments will have a higher ratio, such as 1 : 3 when including IMC / PCU patients.

Weekend coverage is required every other week with six weekend shifts in six weeks.

Holidays and floating to IMC / PCU are also required.

The nurse will assist in managing patients on ventilators, BiPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula devices.

Responsibilities include assisting with intubation, central line placement, and chest tube placement.

The nurse will manage vasoactive infusions, sedation, and other therapeutics.

Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics.

Daily census averages 8 patients with 12 beds in the unit.

Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

The patient population comprises individuals with acute respiratory failure, post-cardiac arrest care, and various conditions requiring specialized attention.

Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
