The Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Asphalt Plant / Loader Operator / Maintenance to work at our Ace Saginaw location in Crow Island, MI . The Asphalt Plant Operator / Maintenance will operate plant and loader to produce hot mix asphalt.

Responsibilities
The Asphalt Plant Operator / Maintenance will :
Promote Safety and follow all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.Perform safety engagement reporting (Risk Assessments, Near Miss Reporting, etc.)Operate front end loader, skid steer, off road haul truck, manlift, large forklift, and other heavy equipmentAbility to learn plant controls / operations.Examining machinery for safety & maintenance concerns, identifying sources of all malfunctions.Ensure that bins and stockpiles are kept well stocked and prioritized correctlyObserving and documenting environmental factors to ensure that emission control devices operate properly and within our permit limits.In conjunction with Operations Manager, help to determine personnel and schedules to meet daily internal / external customer requirements.In conjunction with Operations Manager, determines appropriate timing for maintenance / repairs.Discharge appropriate tonnage safely into correct customer trucksAbility to identify and resolve safety and mechanical malfunctionsAlso assists with various other tasks, ability to learn necessary production data and document.Other duties assigned by Plant Management.Skills
The ideal candidate will have :
Ability to follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures.Knowledge of asphalt plant equipment, production process, and mix designs.High School Diploma; beneficial to have trade school certificates or college coursesExperience in safely operate and maintain industrial equipment (Asphalt Plant & Controls, Loader, Skid-steer, Man-lift and other machinery)Ability to follow all Safety and Environmental ProceduresKnowledge of asphalt plant equipment, production process, and mix designs are a plusKnowledge of materials and specification requirementsKnowledge of basic computer skillsMechanical, welding and fabrication skillsWilling to have flexible work schedule, this will include long hours, weekend and holiday work, night work as needed.Able to work as a team memberStrong communication, leadership skillsUsing hands to move controls, manual labor, climbing, working outsideAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to operate motor vehicleStanding, walking, sitting for extended period of timeTolerating noise and temperature variationsWilling to have flexible work schedule depending on customer and company demands.Able to work as a team member.Strong communication, leadership skills.
