American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications, with day / night rotation and first-to-float responsibilities.

Work in a 4-bed ICU within an acute care settingCritical access hospital (CAH) environmentNurse to patient ratio is typically 1 : 2-3 based on acuityCommon patient cases include DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac issues, medical detox, art lines, and CVPRNs are required to titrate typical ICU drips and read / interpret their own cardiac stripsWork with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannulas to ventilatorsNo charge nurse on shift; ER manages oversight for ICUNo nurse aides or patient care tech supportUses Meditech for documentation; experience preferredDay and night rotating 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday coverage as neededFloating required to Medical-Surgical or Emergency Room areas for 1 : 1 carePrimary responsibilities include direct care for a diverse ICU patient population, titration of drips, ventilator management, and cardiac monitoringPosition requires adaptability, strong teamwork, and situational safety awarenessRNs must wear navy scrubsThree 12-hour unit-specific orientation shifts providedFirst to float among unit staffCandidates may not have been employed (full, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past yearSubmit all requests for time off (RTO) upfront, limited to 7 days per 13-week contractNo clinical involvement during interview processing\n \n Requirements\n
Active RN license, state or compact, must be valid at the time of considerationMinimum of 1 year ICU experience requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALSTNCC, TCAR, or significant trauma patient care experience requiredMust provide two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years with dates of employment and rehire eligibilityCopy of driver’s license requiredFacial hair must comply with fit testing standards for respiratory protection; inability to pass results in contract cancellationMust live at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
