This unique residency offers advanced clinical training in acute care and is the only program of its kind in the state of Louisiana. Upon successful completion, residents will meet the eligibility requirements to pursue board certification as a Certified Clinical Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy (CCS) or a Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy (GCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This job serves as a full-time post-graduate physical therapy resident. The position plans, organizes and conducts physical therapy treatment programs based upon evaluation, assessment and medical referral; maintains patient care records; evaluates the patient’s response to treatment and recommends treatment plan changes. Receives training based on a didactic curriculum, clinical education, skills, professional collaboration, athletic venue coverage, and community outreach.
