General Overview
A Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure and tools that enable rapid software development and deployment. This role works closely with development, QA, and IT operations teams to automate processes, monitor systems, and improve CI / CD pipelines, ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability while providing production support for customer-facing and supporting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following :
- Embodies Metrc’s Leadership Principles
- Define and develop DevOps infrastructure projects
- Design and implement secure automation solutions for each of the different environments relative to our SDLC (development, staging / UAT, production)
- Experience with cloud security, such as managing users, roles, and privileges through IAM and integrating vulnerability assessment tools with CI / CD pipeline
- Proficient in scripting / programming languages for automation – Python / Bash / PowerShell
- Design, implement, and maintain CI / CD pipelines across multiple environments
- Manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM
- Excellent troubleshooter
- Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration
- Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response processes
- May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
At least 5 years of working experience in a DevOps capacityBachelor’ degree in Computer Science or a relevant field. Equivalent working experience is acceptable.Deep knowledge of CI / CD tools (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI)Solid understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and security principlesHands-on experience with monitoring and observability toolsHands-on Cloud experience, Azure preferredExpertise in Windows Server and LinuxExperience with compliance and security standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001)Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.Written Communication Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written?information.Oral Communication Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets?clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.?Teamwork Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to?succeed.?Physical Demands and Work Environment
