Commerce Editor Temporary Job at Promote Project in New York

BDG is seeking a part-time, remote Commerce Editor to join our growing Commerce and Affiliate Marketing team. The team consists of editors and business strategists who create affiliate content across all of BDG’s sites, including Bustle, Elite Daily, Inverse, Mic, and Scary Mommy.

These articles, and the Commerce team broadly, operate separately from each site’s editorial team. Commerce articles are written to generate revenue from sales of featured products. The Commerce team covers a wide range of categories, including home improvement, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, technology, health & wellness, etc.

The Commerce Editor’s daily responsibilities include editing the Commerce team’s articles to ensure they meet editorial standards and effectively generate revenue through product sales. This role is ideal for detail-oriented editors, persuasive writers, and product enthusiasts. It suits those with a background in copyediting, copywriting, or marketing. Since the role is remote, candidates should be comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.

Candidates must be able to work remotely for 28 hours per week and be available during major shopping events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Prime Day, which are critical for commerce content. Please do not apply unless you can meet this requirement.

Commerce articles are created to drive revenue through product sales, covering categories like home improvement, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, technology, and health & wellness.

The role involves editing articles for grammar, voice, product selection, and formatting, updating existing content, researching products across categories, and analyzing content performance to optimize results. It’s a great fit for those with experience in e-commerce or editorial, especially in affiliate content, and familiarity with CMS platforms and affiliate platforms like Amazon Associates.
