Magnet Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) - Relocation Offered!

General Summary of Position

Gathers information and analyzes data to assist with the writing and submission of the initial Magnet application. Supports Nursing Leadership in preparing policies, documents, staff for Magnet designation. Position is considered hybrid and will require flexibility to be on-site.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1.Acts as a liaison to ANCC and maintains accurate, timely and consistent communications and records with ANCC re Magnet application process.

2.Acts as liaison for nursing councils. Serves as a Magnet cheerleader and chief morale officer during and for the process.

3.Collaborates internally and externally, including other MedStar hospitals and with consultants.

4.Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

5.Educates and informs physicians, ancillary departments, and hospital leadership about Magnet. Prepares and provides timely reports to stakeholders to maintain support and buy-in for Magnet.

6.Maintains ongoing readiness in preparation for designation status. Maintains reporting mechanism such as RN Professional Profile, Magnet Status annual monitoring reports and quality reports to required databases such as NDNQI.

7.Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts as required.

8.Participates in multidisciplinary quality and process improvement teams.

9.Participates in planning and implementation of celebrations and recognitions.

10.Proactively scans the environment, literature, etc. to identify opportunities for improvement to meet and / or maintain Magnet designation.

• Assists with the preparation of the annual Magnet budget.
• May provide guidance and training to other support personnel.

13.Writes and coordinates the document submission for the initial Magnet Designation process.
