Responsibilities :

  • Lead all stages of new product design and development, from customer requirements through final qualification testing.
  • Design, build, test, and validate prototypes of innovative electro-mechanical products.
  • Conduct research, develop trade studies, and evaluate return on investment (ROI) for design options.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Specify raw materials and purchased components to meet design requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Accounting to set pricing and cost targets.
  • Develop product acceptance tests, verification criteria, and test fixtures.
  • Write and approve manufacturing instructions, support fixture / jig development, and train production staff on new processes.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to manufacturing, purchasing, and customer service teams.
  • Review and resolve customer issues, warranty matters, and quality concerns.
  • Issue and support Corrective and Preventative Action Reports (CARs / PARs) in line with Taber’s Quality Management System.

  • Requirements :

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred. Equivalent experience (15+ years) may be considered.
  • Experience : Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, with over 5 years preferred.
  • Strong background in electro-mechanical design, including assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, GD&T, and dimensional analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing best practices, material specifications, and statistical analysis.
  • Skills in software / firmware programming for control electronics a plus.
  • Proficiency in mathematical analysis, technical writing, and business computer applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, and critical thinking capacity.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally with strong interpersonal skills.
  • MUST BE a U.S. Citizen to work at this company because they have U.S. Government contracts dealing with the United States DOD.
