Summary Description
Los Niños Primero, Inc is seeking a talented and experienced Grant Writer to join our dynamic team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, applying for, and managing grant funding opportunities to support our organization's programs and initiatives.
In this role, the Grant Writer will be responsible for grant development and writing, identifying and building relationships with private foundations and participate in crafting a development plan
Essential Responsibilities :
- Research and Identification :
- Identify and research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other grant-making organizations.
- Monitor grant databases, websites, and publications to stay updated on new funding opportunities.
- Proposal Development :
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports tailored to the requirements of each funding opportunity.
- Develop with the Executive Director a specific budget for the proposed project / program within the grant request or if for general operating support, submit the organizational budget
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
- Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines.
- Relationship Management :
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with grant-making organizations, program officers, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with finance and program teams to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting for grant applications and awards.
- Grant Management :
- Track and report on the status of grant applications and awards.
- Manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation.
- Monitor grant expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and grant requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication :
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling narratives and data-driven proposals.
- Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to provide updates on grant activities, opportunities, and outcomes.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing for non-profit organizations.Strong research, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail.Financial budget projections are essential skillsKnowledge of grant application processes and grant management best practices.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Proficient computer skills in a networked Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as comfort and working level knowledge of the internet are essential.Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in a relevant field.Experience working in the non-profit sectorBased in Atlanta, GA.Benefits :
