Electrical Engineer (East Tennessee Mines; Middle Tennessee Mines; Strawberry Plains, TN) – Nyrstar
Role description : To provide safe, efficient, operational guidance to the Electrical maintenance team at the Nyrstar Tennessee Mines. The annual salary for this position will be dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Safety, Health & Environment : Promote awareness and comply with site standards and procedures in EHS; demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed EHS goals; provide leadership in EHS and ensure Asset Management reports all EHS incidents and participates in EHS initiatives; set objectives in EHS for employees and contractors; take responsibility for the safety of all personnel at Nyrstar Tennessee Mines.
- Function / Production : Maintain effective short and long–term maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment; monitor preventative and breakdown maintenance procedures; consult with warehouse and suppliers regarding parts and consumables; review and implement effective maintenance methods, equipment, and plans; coordinate maintenance personnel; monitor performance against targets and take corrective action; keep up to date with new techniques and procedures; propose improvements for maintenance processes.
- Supervision (if applicable) : Participate in the Maintenance team; provide leadership, performance management, career development, and succession planning; ensure deployment and skill level requirements are maintained; uphold effective discipline, communication, and relationships within the team and with other teams; apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure policy compliance.
Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment or related discipline.Comprehensive knowledge of MSHA mine regulations, mine power distribution circuits, grounding, ground monitoring and neutral grounding circuits preferred.5-10 years' experience in electrical maintenance within a mining, construction, or OEM environment.5 years' experience in a supervisor or manager role preferred.Experience in leading others and familiarity with leadership theory and team management practice preferred.Excellent technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical maintenance concepts; ability to coach and develop others.Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to communicate vision; good written and verbal communication; collaborative approach.Proficiency in SAP, MS Office Suite, and ETAP preferred.Demonstrated commitment to safe-working rules and risk-aware initiative.Result-oriented with ability to maintain focus on key areas; honesty, integrity, and open interpersonal approach.Department : Internal & External
