Cloud / Infrastructure Technology Supervisor
The Cloud / Infrastructure Technology Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the technology strategy and operations of the IT Server Administration team. This role involves managing the team, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
Job Responsibilities : Cloud / Infrastructure Operational Administration and Technical Leadership Managed Cloud operation and technical leads acting as subject matter expert on departmental projects to ensure Cloud and Infrastructure engineering initiatives (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) are aligned with NJM strategic plan and line of business goals. Advise senior staff on technical issues as appropriate. At a project level, serve as a liaison for lines of business to ensure cloud governance through a matrix organizational structure. Influence technical staff in the design and operation of complex computing platforms and management of technology assets. Serve as escalation point of contact for the most complex issues and problem analysis. Ensure staff implements technical solutions according to established policies, procedures, patterns and standards. Accountable for the implementation and ongoing support of the Infrastructure solutions and the operational staff that maintains them. Lead a team in the monitoring and response to cybersecurity events and triage.
Emerging Technology Research - Develop technology roadmaps to align new desktop engineering initiatives to company and line of business goals. Engineer and coordinate desktop solutions to improve end user business continuity objectives.
Leadership, Teamwork, Communication, and Administration - Provide leadership and management for the staff. Plan and facilitate team goals and objectives by working with the team, peers, and direct management to support IT's overall goals and objectives. Coordinate and communicate through regular staff meetings and meeting with individual team members. Work with the team to foster a positive work environment that promotes knowledge sharing and teamwork within the group. Effectively utilize staff and manage resource assignments. Oversee assignments, identifying opportunities to mentor team members and drive work towards a successful delivery of solution. Identify staffing needs and recruit new team members. Perform supervisory administrative duties as required by NJM policies.
Staff Development and Performance Management - Identify the strengths and weakness of the team members and work with the individual to enhance strengths and mitigate weaknesses. Review staff deliverables to ensure deliverable is complete and provide es on recommendations for improvements. Evaluate the performance of team members, both formally and informally, with focus on both achievements and performance improvement opportunities. Promptly address all conflicts, issues and challenges.
Operational Administration - Provides technical support to Server Specialist, project managers, developers, designers, service desk staff, workstation support staff, other IT staff, and end users. Participates in the troubleshooting of all hardware and software. Also assists third party vendors in the operation and maintenance their software. Responsible for the monitoring of network servers to ensure high availability. Participate in the evaluation and maintenance of server performance and monitoring tools and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
Documentation / Administration - Responsible for the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery documentation and procedures. Participate in disaster recovery exercises. Possess a working knowledge of NJM's backup and recovery and have the ability to backup and restore individual files and entire servers.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
The salary range for this role is $169,000 - $197,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials.
