Full Time Lecturer, renewable

The School of Music at The Ohio State University seeks an Associated Faculty (Lecturer) that will teach undergraduate courses in music theory and aural training as assigned, hold office hours, grade assignments, and submit grades. The faculty member may participate in curriculum development in collaboration with colleagues in the Music Theory area. Must be able to interpret and grade student work, apply written, oral, and visual communication skills.

Effectively teach music theory and aural training at the undergraduate level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required : Masters degree in music theory or related field. Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching of undergraduate theory and aural training.

Desired : Doctoral degree in music theory or related field.

Department Information

The School of Music, housed in the new Timashev Family Music Building, is home to a faculty of nationally and internationally recognized performing artists, composers, scholars, and master teachers who are specialists in their fields. The faculty serves a student body of approximately 300 undergraduate and 90 graduate music majors, as well as hundreds of non-music majors who are pursuing music minors, taking classes, or participating in one of the many performance ensembles.
