The Role

Intern must be available to work full time (40 hours / week) during the 10-week program

Program Dates : May 29 - August 7, 2026.

Location : This position is fully remote / work from home in the continental US.

Work Authorization : US Work Authorization required for this role.

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate's commitment to the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

The Main Responsibilities

The Security Cloud and Infrastructure Operations Engineers are expected to support tools for Multifactor Authentication, Endpoint Security, Email Security, Data Loss Prevention, supporting internal employees with usage of these tools, and managing security measures to protect our organization's cloud infrastructure and data

CybersecurityIncident ResponseTeam (CIRT) Engineers are expected to respond to and mitigate / remediate cybersecurity alerts from Lumen assets. CIRT Engineers research and recommend preventative measures in conjunction with managing reactive alerts. In addition, CIRT Engineers are responsible to evaluate current capabilities and predict future needs, then work with internal stakeholders, vendors, and peers to anticipate, define, and pursue these capabilities.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required qualifications

• Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating August 2026 - May 2028
• Preferred fields include but not limited to : Information / Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field.

Proficiency and understanding of :

Preferred qualifications :

Familiarity with SIEM platforms, packet analyzers, and basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual's level of education, geographic location, and experience / qualifications aligned to the role.

Hourly Based Pay Range :

Min : $ 31 / hour

Max : $ 46 / hour
