About The Position

Experience with preemies (at least 28 weeks and above)

Respiratory management, up to and including intubated patients

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the NICU.

The unit has a total of 108 beds with patient ratios ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4.

The unit is staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs.

The available equipment includes nasal cannulas, bubble CPAP, vents, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes.

Documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech.

Scheduling requirements include three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Contract staff will float to other areas before permanent staff, including PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU.

Candidates will care for patients up to 2 years of age.

Required certifications include BLS and NRP.

The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs.

Advanced skills required include central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laparotomies, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations.
