JOB SUMMARY : We are looking for a highly capable Electrical and Acoustic Test Engineer with a strong background in audio measurement and digital signal processing. This role involves extensive testing of audio systems that integrate DSP algorithms, embedded firmware, power amplifiers, electro-acoustic transducers, and audio interconnects. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Audio Precision and Klippel systems and comfortable working across both analog and digital domains.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, acoustics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of audio test methodologies, including various types of stimulus signals and signal analysis techniques, and the strengths and weaknesses of each one.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing, audio algorithms, and firmware integration.
- Strong understanding of audio interface characteristics (e.g. balanced, unbalanced, floating) and the impedance interactions between interfaces.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Audio Precision macros).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with real-time embedded systems.Knowledge of audio communication protocols (e.g., analog, AES3, MADI, Dante, Milan).Experience with Ethernet / IP network communications (experience with Wireshark analysis of network communications would be a plus).Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).Familiarity with power amplifier architectures, switching power supplies, and thermal management.Experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or professional audio industries.EXPERIENCE :
3+ years of experience in audio product testing, including hands-on experience with audio test systems such as Audio Precision and Klippel.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Design and execute comprehensive test plans for audio systems, including transducers, amplifiers, DSP modules, and embedded firmware.Operate and automate tests using Audio Precision and Klippel R&D / QC systems, as well as develop custom test systems and methods when needed.Validate and characterize DSP algorithms (e.g., EQ, crossover, limiter) and their real-world performance, including when multiple devices and algorithms are combined into complex systems.Collaborate with firmware and hardware teams to debug and optimize embedded audio processing algorithms.Perform power amplifier testing, including amplifier efficiency, thermal behavior, and protection circuitry validation.Develop and maintain automated test scripts using MATLAB, Python, or similar macros.Analyze test data to identify performance trends, anomalies, and root causes.Document test procedures, results, and recommendations in detailed engineering reports.Support compliance testing and ensure adherence to relevant standards (e.g., IEC, AES, UL).
