Post Anesthetic Care Unit Assistant
Assist the PACU nurse in their duties. They are responsible for making sure that patients and supplies move from place to place in an organized, safe and timely fashion.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Provides safe transportation for patients / items to and from the PACU in a timely manner.
Obtains supplies as needed for the safe effective running of the PACU.
Carries specimens to the laboratory and obtains blood from the Blood Bank as needed.
Utilizes hospital policy / procedures as a basis of performance to ensure consistency of care.
Displays adaptability and self-confidence in carrying out responsibilities to ensure a smoothly running unit.
Completes other tasks / duties as assigned to meet the needs of the unit.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
1-2 years Experience preferredLicenses and Certifications
CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days requiredAdditional unit / specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
