The Digital Literacy / Computer Instructor will be responsible for teaching computer and technology skills to refugee clients.
This role focuses on building learners’ confidence and competence in essential digital skills, from basic computer use to internet safety and online communication.
Job duties include :
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in digital literacy, including basic computer operations, internet use, online research, online safety, privacy, and digital communication.
- Assess students’ current skills and tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Provide hands-on training and opportunities for real-world practice.
- Assist students in using digital platforms for virtual meetings (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Support students in applying digital skills for personal, educational, and career-related purposes.
Develop lesson plans that guide students in identifying employment search websites and actively engage in job searches (if legally authorized to work).Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for diverse populations.Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and outcomes, and document data in client databases in a timely manner.Participate in and contribute to team meetings.Perform other duties assigned by the Program Manager and Program Director.Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in education, information technology, computer science, or related field or 1 year teaching experience experience required.P revious experience working in a non-profit or government setting, and e xperience working with immigrants and refugees who have limited English proficiency, preferred.Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole required.Visit our website www.ccannj.com Internal Applicants :
