Description :

The unit consists of four private labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum suites.

There are five additional medical-surgical rooms for overflow if needed.

The facility does not have a NICU and has an unstaffed nursery.

If a baby requires a higher level of care, they will be transferred to another facility approximately 60 minutes away by car.

There are two triage rooms available on the unit.

The unit experiences approximately 30 births per month.

Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NRP, with STABLE preferred.

Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines.

The electronic medical record system utilized is Epic.

Every third weekend is required for works shifts, rotating between days and nights.

Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff.

Scrubs are provided for staff.

Shifts run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The registered nurse will assist with recovery alongside the post-anesthesia care unit registered nurse.

No floating is required unless the registered nurse has experience with medical-surgical units, in which case floating may occur.

Cancellation policy states three shifts for 13 weeks or less, four shifts for 14-20 weeks, and five shifts for 21 weeks or more.
