Provide mobile ultrasound service.
Majority of work performed in various facilities such as nursing homes, home care facilities, and processing sites.
Travel in an automobile to various locations.
Login for self-dispatching or call into the dispatch department for case load information.
Arrive at the first case at the start of the assigned shift or leave home thirty minutes prior.
Unload portable sonographic equipment and take it into facilities to perform exams ordered by the physician.
Obtain clinically diagnostic, technically competent images.
Perform and process ultrasounds using portable sonographic equipment and send them digitally to a Radiologist for interpretation.
Check voicemail from each facility upon completion of assigned cases, or minimally every thirty minutes as necessary.
Check for available cases via self-dispatching system and / or check in with the dispatcher on duty every thirty minutes as necessary.
Wear the company uniform and follow the dress code.
Carry the company-provided phone.
Respond to urgent communication within fifteen minutes.
Attend meetings as required.
Upon arriving at a facility, all orders must be checked for accuracy against the examinations listed in the patient's chart as ordered by the physician.
If the orders in the chart differ or if there are no orders in the chart, the exam cannot be completed until the appropriate order is documented.
Ensure the correct patient is identified by asking for two patient identifiers, such as their name and date of birth.
If the patient is unable to identify themselves, the nurse in charge must provide identification.
Document the nurse's name on the requisition and in the comments section.
Facility staff are responsible for any patient transfers, support, positioning, and assistance.
Sonographers are not to engage in these activities.
Maintain medical physical examinations and TB screenings annually.
Provide documentation of examinations / tests to the appropriate department.
Scan exam-related paperwork daily per protocol.
Communicate efficiently and professionally with peers and supervisory staff.
Maintain the vehicle and sonographic equipment.
Uphold a high standard of medical ethics and stay motivated to increase knowledge of the field.
Responsible for paying any motor vehicle tickets.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances is prohibited.
Communicate any changes to criminal background and adhere to a drug-free workplace policy.
Behave and conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner.
Care for equipment in a professional manner.
Notify the supervisor immediately upon malfunction of any equipment.
Train other technologists as required.
Be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Complete and successfully pass drug screening and background check.
Possess good organizational skills.
Ability to perform basic smartphone operations and basic computer skills.
Knowledge of applicable regions and travel routes is necessary.
A pleasant phone manner and strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
All Sonographers are responsible for any additional duties described in the Associate Handbook or mandated by management.
