Description :
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.
You will promote the use of evidence-based practice through the nursing process, protocols, and procedures.
You will assess the patient's status through interview, observation, and physical assessment of actual problems and outcomes.
You will develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient and health care team.
You will use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes.
You will systematically evaluate and document the patient's progress toward expected outcomes and goals on an ongoing basis throughout the shift.
You will modify the plan of care based on evaluation and as needed based on changes in the patient's condition.
You will complete required documentation as appropriate, including patient charts and event reports.
You will demonstrate professional accountability for your own practice as evidenced through seeking resources and continued self-development.
You will demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot when problems arise.
You will maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice.
You will promote the professional development of yourself and team members.
You will share clinical knowledge through informal teaching and in response to the learning needs of others.
You will demonstrate a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues as applicable.

You will perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider orders and hospital lab procedures and policies.
You will coordinate the interdisciplinary care of the patient through collaboration with team members and utilize additional resources when necessary.
You will analyze clinical situations in a systematic way and act to obtain resources or correct problems to meet or exceed expected outcomes or patient needs.
You will recognize the need for assistance and utilize resources, including physician and nurse consultations in a timely manner.
You will demonstrate ownership and persistence to ensure problems are resolved in the best way possible.
You will assume assignments of non-complex and some complex patient management with some turnover in assignments.
You will consistently prioritize work based on changes in patient condition, changes in assignments, and unanticipated interruptions.
You will identify and utilize team resources to solve identified problems or needs.
You will collaborate with the health care team in organizing tasks and activities for the patient's care from admission to discharge according to the plan of care and to meet identified expected outcomes.

You will assess and choose teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's and family's age-specific needs.
You will adapt teaching strategies based on the patient's response, readiness to learn, and level of comprehension.
You will take cultural, age-specific, and developmental factors into consideration when teaching patients about procedures, illness, and hospital experiences.
You will ensure patient safety in the hospital environment by following policies and procedures and adhering to National Patient Safety Goals.
You will consult appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
You will utilize patient education systems as a resource for patients and family members.
You will actively participate in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving and give input on process improvements and patient satisfaction.
You will assure that the care provided is consistent with standards of care, evidence-based practices, national patient safety goals, and quality initiatives.
You will work with the interdisciplinary team in identifying opportunities for improvement in patient care and patient and family satisfaction.
You will promote and achieve customer satisfaction.
You will participate in the implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
You will promptly and efficiently follow up on patient and family requests and anticipate their needs.
