Cancer Partners of Nebraska is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our infusion department. Infusion nurses provide comprehensive oncology services in an adult outpatient setting. Must have current Nebraska-licensed registered nursing license from an accredited school of nursing and must be CPR certified. Applicants must also have at least three years of nursing experience. Critical care or prior oncology / chemotherapy experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients, family members and co-workers is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides general nursing care to patients and administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Observes, records and reports patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed. Educates patient / family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness.
- Monitors and tracks all medications and medical supplies / equipment including ensuring timely maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintains / reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results.
- Responds to / refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
Education and Training :
Registered Nurse (RN); completion of nurse training from an accredited school of nurse.Bachelors' (BSN) or OCN preferredExperience :
Minimum of one year professional nursing experienceKnowledge :
Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, structure and functions, and community resources. Familiarity with state law of nursing care, and nursing practice guidelinesKnowledge of healthcare technology, equipment and suppliesKnowledge of chart / medical records documentation requirements and federal / state laws related to release of health care informationKnowledge and appreciation for a teamwork concept, clinic policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care as it relates to the Infusion teamKnowledge of customer service concepts and techniquesKnowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and other regulatory policiesKnowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuationSkills :
