Carpenter Helper

Join a dynamic team specializing in custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, and decorative finishes. Work on high-end, large-scale projects in a creative and skilled environment. As a Carpenter Helper, you will assist in assembling custom areas such as die walls, countertops, and reception desks using a variety of tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble die walls, countertops, and reception desks.
  • Create trim using various types of wood.
  • Operate tables saws, shop saws, joiners, drum sanders, and beam saws.
  • Interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, woodworking, and home-building.
  • Familiarity with custom millwork construction methodology and joinery techniques.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with plastic laminate, wood lumber & veneers, and solid surface materials.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques for custom builds such as countertops and reception desks.
  • Experience with the prep and progression of sanding steps up to final polishing of solid surfaces.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing plant as a custom wood / millwork fabricator.

    Work Environment

    Work in a warehouse setting where the environment can be dusty. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday, from 6 AM to 4 : 30 PM, with occasional overtime. Dress in suitable work attire for a hands-on carpentry environment.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract position based out of Summerville, South Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
