Overview
Wake County Public Libraries is looking for part-time Library Assistants for three of our library locations. Responsibilities
- Work on a public service desk to answer questions, check out materials, and issue library cards
- Help patrons with informational and reading needs
- Assist Library Manager with library operational duties
- Assist Librarians with program setup and / or program delivery
- Assist with creating and maintaining engaging book displays
Locations and Schedule
Current opportunities are at Community Libraries, including Green Road Community Library (4101 Green Road, Raleigh, NC 27604) and Leesville Community Library (5105 Country Trail, Raleigh, NC 27613), plus Regional Libraries (North Regional Library, 7009 Harps Mill Road, Raleigh, NC 27615).
Schedule (typical) :
Week 1 : Wednesday 5 : 05-9 : 05 PM; Thursday 5 : 05-9 : 05 PM; Friday 8 : 00 AM-12 : 00 PM; Saturday 9 : 00 AM-6 : 00 PMWeek 2 : Sunday 12 : 05-5 : 05 PM; Wednesday 4 : 05-9 : 05 PM; Thursday 4 : 05-9 : 05 PM; Friday 8 : 00 AM-1 : 00 PMEvenings and weekends are requiredLocations have varying schedules; a regular Saturday and Sunday rotation is common, with some locations requiring weekend work every other week.

Employment Type : Regular
Work Schedule : 20 hours per week, combination of days, evenings, and regular weekend rotation
Hiring Range : 24.72–29.36 per hour

Other Information
Part-time Library Assistants generally work a combination of morning, afternoon, and evening hours with a regular Saturday and Sunday rotation (may vary by location).The selected candidate must undergo a successful criminal background check and education verification and may be required to submit fingerprints to the State Bureau of Investigation for a secondary criminal history check.I have included ALL prior work experience on my application and resume.
