Overview
Department Head - Electrical Engineer to lead and manage the electrical design team at our Casper, WY office. This leadership role combines technical expertise with strategic oversight, offering the opportunity to drive innovation, ensure quality project delivery, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative environment. You will report directly to the Office Manager and work closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex building system designs. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 10-15 years of experience in electrical design and project management.
Responsibilities
- Mentor, supervise, and support the growth of electrical engineering staff.
- Manage resource allocation and team assignments in collaboration with the Office Manager.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews for all electrical project deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and participate in client / project interviews.
- Oversee the design and implementation of electrical building systems : power distribution, lighting, data / telecom, and fire alarm systems.
- Perform lighting calculations, circuit layouts, and switchgear designs.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IBC, and other relevant standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate system performance.
- Coordinate electrical design efforts with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.
- Track and manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison with clients and stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for new projects and services.
- Strengthen client relationships and represent the firm in the engineering community.
Qualifications
