American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hybrid Emergency Room / Urgent Care role, requiring a WA or Compact RN license and multiple advanced certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a brand-new freestanding hybrid Emergency Room and Urgent Care facility
  • Unit features 8 treatment rooms including 1 trauma / resuscitation room, a dedicated triage room, and 6 hall chairs
  • Daily patient volume averages 90-100 with a mix of 60% urgent care and 40% emergency level cases
  • RN-to-patient ratio is 3 : 1 for ER patients, varies for urgent care
  • EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
  • Shifts are night (7 : 00 pm – 7 : 30 am) with every other weekend required
  • No floating or on-call required
  • Facility has an on-site 24 / 7 security presence
  • Telemetry and ventilator equipment available, no RT onsite (RNs may be responsible for ventilator management)
  • Includes X-ray and CT in the ER
  • Responsibilities include triaging, providing acute care, administering medications, and managing ER holds and transfers
  • Team includes ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and an RN & LPN mix
  • Orientation consists of 12 hours of training
  • Holiday shifts are scheduled by rotation among staff
  • Scrubs of any color may be worn
  • RNs are not required to float to other units
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
  • Candidates who were directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year are not eligible
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in emergency room nursing required
  • Current certifications required : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NRP, TNCC, and NIHSS
  • Typical ER RN skill set expected, including triage and strip-reading
  • Experience with EPIC EMR required
  • Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 years with employment dates and eligibility for rehire
  • Copy of driver's license required
