Overview

Security Systems Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including CCTV / IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. You will also mentor less experienced technicians, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team. You will be the face of Siemens to customers, helping to keep buildings and inhabitants safe.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance
  • Run routine reports to review system operation
  • Participate in final inspection and testing
  • Support customer acceptance
  • Assist with customer training on system operations
  • Complete and submit routine written reports
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
  • Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination : May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the installation and / or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
  • Understanding of network components and workstation / server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality, and basic switch, router, and firewall principles
  • Current certification and working experience with Genetec software
  • Willing and able to work in varied environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside / inside / heat / cold / day / night conditions; use of hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; ability to differentiate wire types / colors and carry / move equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and limited violations
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in the installation and / or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
  • Ability to read / understand design and construction documents
