Overview

Security Systems Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including CCTV / IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. You will also mentor less experienced technicians, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing within the team. You will be the face of Siemens to customers, helping to keep buildings and inhabitants safe.

Responsibilities

Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance
Run routine reports to review system operation
Participate in final inspection and testing
Support customer acceptance
Assist with customer training on system operations
Complete and submit routine written reports
Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination : May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the installation and / or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems

Understanding of network components and workstation / server operating system management, IP addressing and subnetting, IP video network transmission and factors that impact video rates and quality, and basic switch, router, and firewall principles

Current certification and working experience with Genetec software

Willing and able to work in varied environments around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside / inside / heat / cold / day / night conditions; use of hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; ability to differentiate wire types / colors and carry / move equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted

18 years of age with a valid driver's license and limited violations

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred

7+ years of experience in the installation and / or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems

Ability to read / understand design and construction documents
