Regional Chair, Department of Psychiatry - Midland / Odessa
Position Description
The Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC) in the Permian Basin will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the department, fostering excellence in clinical care, research, education, and community service. The Chair will be responsible for overseeing all departmental activities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, promoting faculty development, and advancing the department’s academic mission. This role includes managing the ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program and developing fellowship programs in various subspecialties within the field of Psychiatry. The Chair will also ensure the affiliated behavioral health hospital is adequately staffed and maintain strong relationships with hospital leaders. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strong track record in academic psychiatry, clinical practice, and administrative experience.
Rank of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Department of Psychiatry.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care.
Oversee the development and implementation of educational programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education.
Promote and support research activities within the department.
Recruit, retain, and mentor high-quality faculty members.
Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
Represent the department within the TTUHSC and the broader community.
