Security Officer - Utilities Access Control

As a Security Officer specializing in access control at a major utilities location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, conducting routine patrols throughout the premises, and remaining highly visible to provide a reassuring presence. You will also be expected to deliver exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and assisting individuals as needed. Pay Rate : $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTime Thur 04 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM

Fri 04 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM

Sat 04 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM

Sun 04 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at utility locations.
  • Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and / or visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for utility environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and / or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or unusual circumstances to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with site staff and Allied Universal team members to maintain a secure environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Remain alert to potential hazards and / or security-related threats specific to utility locations and take appropriate action as needed.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
  • Minimum Requirements :

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
