High School Diploma or GED required with minimum skill requirements.

Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude through background or hobbies in agriculture, automotive or other technical areas

In lieu of demonstrated mechanical aptitude, two (2) years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge will be considered or currently enrolled in a certificate or degree program for Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics or related discipline

Related military technical experience and electrical or mechanical trade experience will be considered

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Possess basic mechanical aptitude

Basic electrical and mechanical skills preferred

Ability to solve basic mechanical or electrical problems, which may include understanding of basic engineering formulas

Ability to diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues visually or audibly apparent at the single component level

Effective verbal and written communication within own department to peers, managers, and outside vendors to convey basic technical data and needs

Ability to follow detailed instructions

Software skills, including Microsoft Office suite and other web-based applications

Possess time management and organizational skills

JOB CONDITIONS

Will need to use hand tools and possibly power tools

May be working in hot or cold temperatures

May need to stand, walk, bend, stoop and squat

Pay Transparency : This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in NJ. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay is determined by experience relative to the job, market level, specific location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full & part-time employees (who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and / or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement. Full / part-time employees who are age 21 are eligible for 401(k) after one month of employment.

Pay : Main tech I : 0-2yrs exp $20.35 - $31.73 / hr; Main tech II : 2-3yrs exp $22.50 - $34.97 / hr; Main tech III : 4-5yrs exp $24.75 - $38.43 / hr; Main tech Spec : 6+yrs exp $30.75 - $47.47 / hr - This job is eligible for an additional 15% based on location.

Additional Details : Full Time - 3rd Shift Tuesday-Saturday
