Pay Range Information :

Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidates qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Job Description Summary :

The Systems / Electronic Resources Librarian manages library technology to provide services and enhance access to information resources in all formats, including database and systems administration. This position leads the development and implementation of library technologies and applications; serves as systems administrator for the Integrated Library System (ILS); and configures and maintains the proxy server; and is the primary liaison to the ILS and other database vendors. The Systems / Electronic Resources Librarian trains and supports library staff on the use of the ILS and other applications; collaborates with Leatherby Libraries, and the University on technology-related issues; and develops and documents policies and procedures.

Responsibilities :

Manage the librarys use of technology to provide library services and enhance access to information resources in all formats.

Identify, evaluate, and implement current and emerging technologies.

Works to promptly troubleshoot and resolve technology-related issues.

Collaborate with Leatherby Libraries, and the University on technology related issues to ensure compatibility and compliance with campus and systems requirements.

Configure and administers remote authentication systems and processes.

Serve as point of contact for law library systems and technology vendors.

Train and support staff on the use of the ILS and other applications.

Develop and maintain documentation of policies and procedures for public and staff use of technology.

Serve on committees, manage projects as assigned.

Attend professional conferences as needed.

Collect and interpret user and system statistics.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Serve as systems administrator for the Integrated Library System (ILS).

Plan, customize, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot all modules of the ILS

Work with other library staff to maintain the integrity and functionality of the ILS for library staff and users.

Serve as liaison between ILS vendor, library staff, and users regarding systems issues.

Collect and interpret user and system statistics

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :

MLS from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent relevant degree.

Experience with library and computer systems, including an Integrated Library System.

Experience with a content management system.

Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment to conceptualize, communicate, coordinate, and implement complex activities and projects.

Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups at all organizational levels, both inside and outside the University.

Ability to formulate and communicate logical and sound conclusions and recommendations.

Demonstrated writing skills to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

Ability to independently prioritize tasks when faced with multiple projects and requests.

Commitment to expanding, improving, and promoting library services.

Desired Qualifications :

Experience with programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python scripting).

Experience with servers (Linux, Nginx) and networking.
