Job Responsibilities :
Position Summary : Performs advanced and complex accounting duties that require thorough knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, concepts and requirements that impact the operations and management of the agency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Non-profit and grant accounting experience preferred, and advanced skills in working with Excel spreadsheets and accounting software. Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
Minimal Qualifications and Salary Schedule :
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and at least five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.

Work Relationship and Scope :
Reports directly to the Controller. Has contact with funding sources, employees, supervisors, program directors and executive management. Must be able to work both independently and from a team approach.

Working Conditions :
Required to enter data into computer, and the work is performed while sitting for extended periods of time with the ability to move about at will.
Physical Demands :
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle objects and controls. Must possess hand and finger dexterity. Handling files and documents may require reaching with hands and arms. Could have a requirement to stoop, kneel or crouch and to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
