District 4 is looking for a self-motivated park service professional to fill an administrative IV position, as a member of the district team. The applicant must possess good customer service, computer, and administrative skills. The incumbent must be able to multi-task working with a high-volume workload.
Your specific responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining accounting and budgeting records and procedures for the district and district parks. You will maintain an accounting system for operating and fixed capital outlay budget categories for all units within District 4. You will also track and audit fixed capital outlay work project expenditures through PPMTS and maintain the PPMTS database. Additionally, you will prepare reports to accurately reflect expenditures, projects, surpluses, deficits, and allocation adjustments for the district.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures; methods of data collection-sorting and tracking district operations and practices. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports; design and implement accounting systems, prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records; analyze and interpret accounting data; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program; plan organize and coordinate work assignment; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; work independently, utilize problem solving techniques, ability to multitask with a high-volume workload, maintain a valid drivers license. Skill in computer usage including Quicken and EXCEL.
Minimum qualifications include a valid drivers license.
Pay : $3,731.25 month / $44,775.00 annual.

Where you will work : District 4 Administration, 1843 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229. Located in Oscar Scherer State Park, this urban setting is located close to gulf beaches and downtown Venice. Aside from the recreational opportunities, many cultural sites are within close distances. This park covers approximately 1,400 acres and consists of 106 campsites, youth area camping, 15 miles of trails, a tidal estuary, creek and a swimming lake. The park contains one of the last strongholds of scrub habitat within Sarasota County with many endemic species such as the Florida Scrub Jay, Gopher Frog and Indigo Snake. Working hours 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
