Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for a Level 3 trauma acute care facility.
Responsibilities
Work in acute inpatient and rehab settings with possible coverage in ICU depending on experience and needTreat 10 to 12 patients per day as part of a team of 6-7 PTs per shiftPatient population includes ortho-total joints, neuro (strokes, occasional brain injuries), medical, general, and ICUUse Epic EMR (EpicCare Inpatient) for documentationFour 10-hour day shifts (07 : 30-18 : 00) or five 8-hour day shifts to accommodate onboarding, with rotating weekend coverage approximately every 4th weekendHoliday shifts required as neededNo self-scheduling or special scheduling requests acceptedPT Manager is present and supported by PTAs and rehab aidesResponsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment planning, and therapy for a variety of conditions including orthopedic, neurological, and medical diagnosesTeam includes PTs, PTAs, and rehab aides for collaborative careDepartment-specific orientation typically lasts 2-3 days with onboarding scheduled during weekdaysScrubs are permitted and color guidelines will be provided upon hire to avoid matching other departmentsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyPermanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before applying as a travelerRequirements
Active state PT license required if applicable and must be active at time of considerationCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute inpatient or rehab physical therapyExperience with Epic EMR preferredDriver’s license requiredTwo professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehireMust live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be consideredBenefits
