We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this critical role, you will maintain, diagnose, and repair a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other construction machinery, to ensure optimal performance and safety. This shop-based position focuses on hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting, and collaboration within a dynamic, safety-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems to identify malfunctions.
• Repair or replace components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, wiring, and other key systems.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and software for precise assessments.
• Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and safety standards.
• Write work orders, order parts, and contact vendors as needed for parts and diagnostics. Complete expense reports and maintain detailed daily time tickets for equipment repair recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with equipment operators to understand performance issues and recommend solutions.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while maintaining a clean and hazard-free shop environment.
