The Facilities Technician will play a vital role in maintaining and supporting facility and equipment operations within a GMP biotechnology manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for both facility and utility systems- including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and cold storage—as well as critical process equipment such as bioreactors, table-top shakers, and other laboratory or production instruments.
The ideal candidate will ensure all systems operate efficiently and reliably through a combination of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities, while maintaining full GMP compliance and documentation standards.
Pay
$33–$40 per hour (based on experience)1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift options with flexibility to rotate weekendsKey Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC units, boilers, chillers, air compressors, and cold storage equipment (freezers, refrigerators, incubators).Monitor and maintain building utilities and environmental control systems to support GMP production areas.Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance checks on bioreactors, shakers, centrifuges, pumps, and other lab / process equipment.Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system issues to minimize downtime and maintain uninterrupted operations.Support installation, qualification, and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment and utilities.Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with GMP, SOPs, and company standards.Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure readiness, compliance, and operational reliability.Participate in on-call rotations and support weekend or off-hour coverage as required for 24 / 7 facility operations.Qualifications
MinimumHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.2+ years of experience in facilities or equipment maintenance within a GMP-regulated biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, or pharmaceutical environment.Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, and cold storage equipment.Working knowledge of bioreactors, shakers, centrifuges, and other laboratory / process instruments.Familiarity with GMP documentation, calibration, validation, and preventive maintenance programs.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and P&IDs.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.Flexibility to support multiple shifts and rotating weekend schedules as operational needs require.This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
