NCS is an ecological restoration firm based in Northville & West Bloomfield, MI. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager / Ecologist to lead ecological restoration projects, manage client relationships, and oversee both field and office operations.

Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a PM-Ecologist based in Northville, MI, with some flexibility for work-from-home (typically Mondays or Fridays). The PM-Ecologist will be responsible for coordinating and expediting ecological restoration project activities, conducting inspections, and managing logistics.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and expedite ecological restoration project activities
- Conduct inspections and manage logistics
- Ensure the successful completion of environmental projects by overseeing project timelines, budgets, and resources
- Data collection / analysis, vegetation / soils / hydrology assessments, site work inspections and mapping, bidding / proposal writing, staff leadership, collaboration with stakeholders, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with construction documents
Project Management & Administration
Manage scopes, budgets, and proposalsDevelop and maintain client relationships and expectationsCoordinate with stakeholders, landowners, and regulatory agenciesEnsure timely and accurate project documentation and invoicingDevelop and maintain project schedules and workplansContribute to business development and improvement effortsEcological Planning, Site Assessment, and Project QA / QC
Conduct vegetation assessments and ecological monitoringContribute to wetland delineations and wildlife / protected species surveys as neededLead and collaborate with internal and external team members to produce habitat management plans and other site planning / design documentsEnsure project plans and specifications are followed and effectively communicate concerns and conflicts when they ariseOversee and ensure restoration quality through field inspections, adaptive management, and reportingField Leadership
Manage and lead field crews in invasive species control, native planting, and habitat restorationLead materials procurement and equipment logistics for installation and maintenance projectsSupport native plantings, prescribed burns, green infrastructure maintenance, erosion control, and other specialized workEnsure safety, efficiency, and ecological integrity in all field operationsContribute to staff training and developmentRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture, or a related field10+ years of progressive experience in ecological restoration or natural resource managementDemonstrated experience as a Project Manager or similar administrative role in environmental consulting, ecological restoration, or landscape architectureDemonstrated leadership, decision-making and client management capabilities, Scheduling and Expediting skillsStrong communication, organization, and time management skillsProficiency with GIS Software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ecological monitoring toolsPreferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related fieldFamiliarity with Michigan native ecosystems and restoration practicesMichigan commercial pesticide applicator certificationExtensive experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specificationsPublic sector construction and / or professional services contract administration experienceExperience with grant-funded restoration projects and reportingProficiency with Microsoft Project or other project scheduling software; Proficiency with Autodesk and Bluebeam CAD software platformsJ-18808-Ljbffr
