Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product. Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus. Other mechanical skills desired but not essential : Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train and Automatic Transmissions. Interstate Power Systems is looking for both Mid-level and Experienced Diesel Mechanic / Technician(s) for our Sioux Falls, South Dakota location. We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanic / Technician(s) to join our team who are specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more! We provide continued training, education, and certification opportunities to all Technician employees
Diesel Mechanic / Technician Job Duties :
- Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components in trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs.
- Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs.
- Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
- Meet requirements for certifications.
