Join Our Team as an Anesthesiology Physician!

Are you a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist looking for an exciting locum tenens opportunity? We have the perfect position for you at a well-supported hospital in Waterloo, Iowa , starting in late September or early October 2025 . This role offers a chance to provide essential anesthesia services while enjoying a competitive compensation package and a supportive work environment.

  • Provide general anesthesia , including OB with TOLAC and light pediatric cases.
  • Enjoy a schedule that includes weekdays and rotating on-call duties .
  • Work in a setting with no clinic responsibilities , allowing you to focus on patient care.

Your Schedule & Coverage

  • Start Date : Late September or early October (must be available to start by then)
  • Duration : Ongoing
  • Weekday Hours : Monday to Friday, 6 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM
  • Night Call : Every 3-4 days (1st, 2nd, 3rd call structure)
  • Weekend Call : Rotating, not fixed (1st call activated 75% of the time)
  • Minimum Availability : 2 weeks per month accepted

    • Scope of Practice

  • General Anesthesia (including OB with TOLAC)
  • Light Pediatric Cases (mainly tonsils / adenoids)
  • Conscious Sedation required
  • No hearts or neurosurgery
  • EMR : Epic (live as of May 2025)
  • Support Staff : 6 physicians, 2 CRNAs
  • OR Volume : Cases / day department-wide across 13 ORs

    • Compensation That Rewards Your Expertise

  • Weekday Hourly Rate : $390 / hr
  • Night Call Rate : $598 / hr
  • 24-Hour Call Rate : $2,660 / day (includes 4 gratis hours)
  • All travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided

    • What We’re Looking For

  • Board Certified in Anesthesiology ( BE not accepted )
  • Active Iowa license or IMLC with LOQ in hand
  • ACLS certification (can be completed during credentialing)
  • Fully COVID vaccinated
  • Clean malpractice history required
