Compensation Packages
Local Candidates (Hourly Pay) : $43-$50
Travel Candidates (Weekly Take-Home Pay) : $1593-$1718

Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher Job Duties
Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
Teach communication, literacy, and academic skills using appropriate methods (e.g., ASL, spoken language, FM systems)
Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to support student success
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements related to special education and DHH services
Federal and State Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or related field
Current Texas DHH teaching certification required (or eligibility)
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Texas school districts
