The County of Solano is offering a position with a salary range of $38.80 to $52.45 per hour. The job is located in Fairfield, CA and is a full-time position within the Sheriff's Office Department. The closing date is continuous.
The position involves providing service and protection to the public through performance of law enforcement duties. Examples of duties include attending the P.O.S.T. Academy to receive training in all aspects of full peace officer law enforcement work, patrolling an assigned geographical area in an unincorporated region of the County, and patrolling County waterways in a boat.
Education and experience requirements include Deputy Sheriff - Entry Level with no experience required, and Deputy Sheriff - Entry Level (Lateral) with satisfactory completion of a California Basic P.O.S.T. Law Enforcement Academy within the last three years. Special requirements include possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license and a Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate obtained within twelve months after completion of the Basic P.O.S.T. Academy.
Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, dental and vision insurances paid 100% by the County, participation in CalPERS retirement, and twelve full day fixed and two half day fixed paid holidays per year. Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.
