Position Overview :
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for transporting feed, grain, and / or ingredients, and livestock safely and efficiently. Drivers are required to maintain logs, adhere to all state / federal regulations, perform inspections before and after each trip, and unload product from trailer to facility.
Driver Roles :
LIVESTOCK : Transport baby pigs from sow farms to finishing farms all over west TN and west KY. Transport Top Hogs from finishing barns to Swift in Louisville, KY. Assist in loading and unloading pigs, while following biosecurity regulations.
What You Do :
Drive & operate trucks while obeying all traffic laws, DOT regulations and company procedures / policiesProfessionally deliver feed, grain, and livestock according to scheduleInspect trucks for safety prior to driving as well as at the end of tripKeep a log of all working hours / miles drivenUse tablet or other computer device for deliveriesCommunicate in a courteous and professional manner while interacting with coworkers, customers, vendorsMaintain a clean driving record and report any accidents / violations immediatelyChampion of a safety culturePerforms other duties as assignedWho You Are
A valid class A CDLA valid Med Certification2 years of driving experienceAcceptable driving & criminal recordNo DUI / DWI convictions in the past 5 yearsExcellent listening and verbal communicationsPhysical Requirements :
Ability to pass and maintain DOT medical certificateIf hauling livestock, you must meet the physical requirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds infrequentlyTake tire chains on / off during winter weather conditions, as neededAbility to sit prolonged periods of timeAbility to operate heavy equipmentAbility to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, climb frequentlyAbility to work days / nights / weekends, extra days and hours to support business needsAbility to pass pre-employment and random drug tests in accordance with DOT and company rules and regulationsWhat's in it for you :
