Nursing Assistant
The Nursing Assistant (NA) will have basic nursing skills in order to provide care to patients / residents with acute to chronic conditions in a health care setting. Responsibilities include utilizing glucose monitoring machines to collect and document appropriate glucose readings for assigned veterans, maintaining a positive therapeutic relationship by displaying respect for human dignity, utilizing observation skills for data collection, reporting and recording patient / resident observations, learning to perform aspects of nursing care to meet patient's needs under close supervision, beginning to engage in group activities, learning to utilize principles of proper body mechanics, and safeguarding the patient's right to privacy.
