  • with shift differentials and the eligibility for a sign-on bonus and tuition reimbursement. The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the assessment of respiratory patients with acute and chronic illnesses, to ensure delivery of clinically appropriate respiratory care procedures as prescribed by the medical staff for neonate, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients.

  • Job Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Performs both routine and advanced respiratory care procedures independently
  • , demonstrating competency across all therapeutic modalities and maintaining required clinical skills.
  • Accurately documents patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
  • in the medical information system, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and updating care plans as needed.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises individualized care plans
  • in collaboration with physicians, using professional judgment and AARC clinical practice guidelines to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicates effectively with the healthcare team
  • , providing comprehensive handoffs, updating patient progress, and addressing unresolved issues promptly.
  • Maintains seamless delivery of respiratory care services
  • , assuming charge responsibilities when needed and performing diagnostic procedures within scope of practice.
  • Ensures adherence to established protocols

    • 95% of patients reviewed for appropriate therapy and timely updates to therapy plans based on clinical indicators.

    • , consistently providing helpful, informative care and supporting patient needs in a courteous and responsive manner.

    • , educating nursing and ancillary staff on respiratory care practices to enhance overall patient care and teamwork.

    • Methodist Fremont Health Hospital, 450 E 23rd St. - Fremont, NE
    • Schedule :
    • 6 : 45 p.m. - 6 : 45 a.m. (3) nights a week with rotating holiday coverage and every third weekend.
    • Salary :
    • Pay starts at $26.65 an hour and may increase based on work history / experience.
    • Job Requirements :
    • Associate's of Science Degree with certificate in Respiratory Care required.
    • Bachelor's of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care preferred.
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months of accepting the Advanced Practitioner position required.
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP.NE or RCP.IA) license for work state required.
    • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
    • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
    • Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS) Certification preferred for MH Respiratory Therapy, MFH Cardiac Unit and MFH Cardiopulmonary Rehab
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification preferred for MFH Cardiac Unit and MFH Cardiopulmonary Rehab.
