Director of Marketing

Position summary : The Director of Marketing is responsible for the development, supervision, and implementation of all sales and public relations. This includes individual sales calls, public speaking, direct mail, and individual solicitation. This individual is under the direct supervision of the Administrator.

Responsibilities :

  • Develops and interprets Brighter Living Sales and Marketing policies to staff and management team.
  • Develops and implements local publicity program for sales and public relations campaigns.
  • Develops short and long range Marketing objectives that are consistent with budget.
  • Collects and analyzes statistical information for the purpose of meeting current objectives and future Marketing and Sales development.
  • Develops or interprets procedural guidelines for the purpose of the implementation of Marketing activity.
  • Prepares reports required by this position :
  • Reports on current sales activity (including presales, commitments, lost sales, pending sales, etc.)
  • Reports on status of budget performance
  • Status of public information programs
  • Development of Marketing brochures and other advertising materials.
  • Conduct specific sales activities to meet sales goals. (Personal calls, group events, educational programs, etc.)
  • To complete all other tasks as assigned by the Administrator.
  • To coordinate and participate in the admission and move-in process for all residents.
  • Interprets to family and community the information needed for admission
  • Explains Brighter Living programs and its limits
  • Begin to formulate the service plan with the DCS and care specialists
  • Arrange for tours
  • Ensure the completion of admissions packet, Uniform Assessment, Physical, TB test according to state regulations
  • Ensure chart is complete and ready for use by care specialists
  • Assist family in the process of moving into facility
  • Initiate the 48-hour welcoming protocol for all new residents
  • Provide on-call support for facility as part of management team according to the designated management schedule.
  • Serve as acting Administrator in the absence of the Administrator.
  • Complete a minimum of 20 in-service hours annually.

Qualifications : Graduate from an accredited college or university with 2-4 years experience or the successful completion of a healthcare related graduate program. Two successful years in sales and or marketing in long term care or equivalent degree. Candidates must have outgoing personality; patience and compassion, flexibility in the ability to communicate in a pleasant voice and manner are necessary. Characteristics of a team player; self-starter with initiative; tact and discretion are required. Must pose the analytical and observational skills to make decisions that would safeguard the health, safety, and service plans of residents.

Supervisory responsibility : This position requires direct supervision of other staff. It does require routine reporting and evaluation of these employees that will safeguard the health, physical and mental safety of the residents.

Equipment to be used : Director of Marketing will use equipment related to the production and completion of public relations material. Must be proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and other required programs.

Mental and Physical demands : The Director of Marketing must be able to meet a work schedule with multi-faceted tasks. Physically this individual must have full mobility to attend a wide variety of functions (meetings, church events, special events, and sales calls). This individual must have the stamina to carry out repetitive activities and the hand dexterity with which to operate equipment related to operating general office equipment such as copier, computer, adding machine etc. This individual must have physical strength to lift weight of at least 40-pounds.

Working conditions : This individual's work will occur in a multitude of sites depending on the sales or marketing area. Typically the workstation will be based in an office at the facility.

Dress code : The Director of Marketing must always dress professionally and wear the company name badge at all times while on the facility grounds.

Employment is contingent upon proof of USA citizenship or work permit. A valid Virginia driver's license, criminal record check and passage of a drug screening are required. This individual will abide by the resident rights mandated by the state of Virginia, Virginia Department of Social Services.
